Nesta Página procuramos falar do tema segurança e risco no turismo de aventura no Brasil para conscientizar a todos que curtem cachoeiras e trilhas sobre os riscos e cuidados básicos que devemos ter em trilhas, águas, cachoeiras e atividades em contato com a natureza, chamando a atenção para a responsabilidade individual quando frequentamos esses lugares, tanto no cuidado pessoal, quanto na atitude de exigir esclarecimentos sobre segurança nos locais que pretendemos visitar. Também queremos sensibilizar os nossos legisladores para que normatizem a segurança dentro das propriedades particulares e dos Parques Nacionais, com adoção obrigatória da Gestão de Segurança e de medidas de prevenção. O Brasil detém uma estatística terrível, somos o terceiro país com o maior número de afogamentos no mundo. A OMS e a SOBRASA indicam 6.500 mortes por afogamento no país em 2011 (sem contar os acidentes não fatais que chegam a números extremamente elevados). O número de vítimas cresce descontroladamente ano a ano. Em outras palavras, 17 pessoas morrem afogadas no Brasil diariamente, isto é, a cada 84 minutos uma morte por afogamento. Não existem estatísticas oficiais específicas sobre mortes e acidentes graves em cachoeiras e trilhas no Brasil, mas, os jornais estão frequentemente noticiando tais acidentes, Bombeiros, Polícia e hospitais reportam os chamados diários para atendimento de pessoas acidentadas ou o resgate de pessoas falecidas em nossas cachoeiras, que, infelizmente, na sua grande maioria, carecem de condições mínimas de segurança, como sinalização, por exemplo.
Waterfall Safety
In this page we talk about safety and risk in adventure tourism in Brazil in order to raise awareness of all who enjoy waterfalls and trails about the risks and basic care that we must have on trails, waters, waterfalls and activities in contact with nature, drawing attention to the individual responsibility when we frequent these places, both in personal care, as in the attitude of demanding clarification on safety in the places we intend to visit. We also want to sensitize our legislators to regulate security within private properties and National Parks, with mandatory adoption of Safety Management and preventive measures. Brazil has a terrible statistic, we are the third country with the highest number of drownings in the world. The WHO (World Health Organisation) and the SOBRASA (Brazilian Life Saving Society) indicate 6,500 drowning deaths in the country in 2011 (not counting non-fatal accidents that reach extremely high numbers). The number of victims grows wild, year by year. In other words, we have 17 people drowned in Brazil daily, that is, every 84 minutes a drowning death. There are no specific official statistics on deaths and serious accidents in waterfalls and trails in Brazil, but the newspapers are frequently reporting such accidents; the Firefighters, Police and hospitals report the daily calls for help of injured people or the rescue of deceased persons in our waterfalls, which unfortunately, in their vast majority, lack minimum security conditions such as trail-signalling or risk-signalling, for example.

Em 29 de novembro 2017 o PL 8.385/2017 foi aprovado na Comissão de Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento Sustentável - CMADS, na Câmara dos Deputados em Brasília. Segue a tramitação na Câmara para aprovação nas outras Comissões pertinentes. Continuamos com o abaixo-assinado em apoio a esse Projeto de Lei que possibilitará melhorias na Gestão de Segurança nos Parques Nacionais. APOIAMOS o Projeto de Lei 8.385/2017 por designar aumento da verba obrigatória para segurança de visitantes: 50% da arrecadação em Parques Nacionais. São assustadores o descaso e o número de ocorrências – fatais e graves – evitáveis em trilhas, águas e cachoeiras do Brasil. Os custos em hospitais são maiores do que a prevenção gastaria com segurança em parques. O turismo no Brasil deixa de arrecadar milhões por ano devido a falta de segurança. Não só os turistas precisam de segurança em trilhas e cachoeiras no Brasil, FUNCIONÁRIOS DE ÓRGÃOS ESTATAIS E PESQUISADORES que transitam profissionalmente nestes locais, também precisam.
The Petition to approve the Law Carlos Brasileiro Pita for visitors' safety in National Parks

On November 29, 2017 the Bill 8.385/2017 was approved in the Committee of Environment and Sustainable Development (CMADS) in the Chamber of Deputies in Brasilia, Brazil. The Procedure of the House is to send the law-project for approval by the other relevant Committees. We continue with the Petition in support of this Bill that will enable improvements in Safety Management in National Parks. WE SUPPORT the Bill 8,385/2017 because it designates an increase in the mandatory budget for visitor safety: 50% of the National Parks’ revenue. The shocking figures regarding serious injuries and fatalities on Brazilian trails and waterfalls are direct results of negligence; lots of those injuries and deaths could be avoided. The costs in hospitals are greater than what preventive action could spend with safety in parks. Tourism in Brazil fails to raise millions a year due to lack of security. Not only do tourists need safety on trails and waterfalls in Brazil, STAFF OFFICERS AND RESEARCHERS who travel professionally in these places, they also need it.
